Smell Gas?
Repairing Gas Leaks...
Repairing
gas leaks in the home can be a tricky situation. A large factor in how simplified the process can be depends on if all gas lines are visible and each appliance has a shut-off valve installed. If the answers to these situations are “yes” then this usually means an easier fix. However, if
gas lines are hidden (behind walls or drop ceilings) and the appliances do not have shut-offs installed the job becomes much harder - and sometimes more expensive - to fix. We use an instrument called a Water Manometer to tell if the
gas lines are leaking. This tool will tell if we have a
gas leak BUT it doesn’t identify how many leaks are involved. Because of this, many times we believe to have fixed the
gas leak in the gas line, only to run a pressure test and find there are more challenges down the line.
Our Technicians are prepared to go a step beyond when installing, repairing or fixing your
gas leak. They are trained by two employees who retired from Laclede Gas, so we know when it comes to minor line repairs, we can come to the rescue!
